Imogen Canyon

Imogen Canyon is the largest and deepest canyon in the whole of Vi'Dan, and is located in the Eastern Cul Highlands. Imogen Canyon serves as the epicentre of Electromagic energy, and itself contains very large deposits of gold and silver, as well as the world's only natural Electrum deposits. Cul Electromages have so far been unable to determine the precise location of the source of Electromagic energy, though it is known to be very deep down and within the western edge of the canyon. Also at this end is the Imogen Waterfall which flows into the ravine, slowly deepening it, though it is currently not known if or where the water flows to. Some Cul legends predict that the end of the world will come when all of the worlds water finally flows into Imogen Canyon, though any sane persone would know this would take preposterously long to occur. The canyon was originally called Grey Canyon, due to its pale rocks, and was renamed Gold Canyon after a local shepard found ore veins in the canyon while rescuing a sheep. However, Queen I'Mo'Sen (Anglicised to Imogen) grew up near the canyon and was a strong advocate for its comercial development and the welfare of the people of A'Ka'Ba'To (Canyon Town), in gratitude, the townsfolk renamed the canyon, first to Queen's Canyon, then to Imogen Canyon.

Geography

The title "canyon" is a bit misleading, as it is better described as a tectonic rift, likely caused by the upwards force of Electromagic emergence during the Great Revenance cracking the ground. The ravine is incredibly deep, so much so that it is difficult to see the bottom, though it narrows considerably a few hundred feet down.

Natural Resources

Contains, and is mined for, a large proportion of Cul gold and silver, with A'Ka'Ba'To (Canyon Town) being located in and near the canyon for the express purpose of mining its incredibly rich reserves of precious metals.
