Magical Distillation

Magical distillation is the process of using highly concentrated Octarchic energy in order to boil away magic repellent impurities and concentrate magically resonant components of a mixture. This process can be used to, for instance, separate the magically resonant salt from the magically inert water, allowing the purification of ocean water aboard ships without the need for a flame. Only mages that are specialised in concentrating magical energy to a small point are able to do this however, so the large scale industrial applications for magical distillation are limited, though there have been some very powerful mages that use intricate alchemical setups to try and maximise their magical potential. These mages have been responsible for the discovery that lead is not magically inert after all but is instead slightly magically resonant, and particularly attrated to Rar Ingeniomancy.

Discovery

Towards the end of the Magical Revolution, around 100 AC. Some scholars suggest that the discovery of Magical Distillation marks the end of the magical revolution as a whole.
