Dryad
Dryads can be from any forest, in this forest is where their tree is.
- Ability Score Increase. Increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1.
- Size. Small or Medium. You choose the size when you select this race.
- Speed. 30 ft.
- Creature Type. You are a Fey. You are also considered a humanoid for any prerequisite or effect that requires you to be a humanoid.
- Age. Dryads will never age as long as the tree that they were born from never dies.
- Treebound. A dryad can emerge from the tree and travel the lands around it, but the tree remains her home and roots her to the world. As long as the tree remains healthy and unharmed, the dryad stays forever youthful and alluring. If the tree is harmed, she suffers. If the tree is ever destroyed, the dryad descends into madness.
- Tree Stride. Once on your turn, you can use 10 feet of your movement to step magically into one living tree within your reach and emerge from a second living tree within 60 feet of the first tree, appearing in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the second tree. Both trees must be Large or bigger.
- Dryad Magic. You know the druidcraft cantrip. When you reach 2nd level, you can cast the speak with animals spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the speak with plants spell once and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. You can also cast either of those spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level. You choose what spellcasting ability you use for it.
- Languages. You can speak, read, and write Sylvan.
