Behind the scenes the senior officer at Checkmate Tower, Agent Zed has been quietly collecting evidence to disband the team.

Courtroom back and forth between Zeds (often petty) critiques and Checkmate defending themselves.

A tit-for-tat back and forth.
Climax
Checkmate wins the day (kind of) but in the process Skorpium conducts himself in a manner unbecoming of a C.H.E.S.S. agent.
With his reckless canter, he has Agent Zed reveal himself and his true motives. The liason officer is caught in his statements to in fact be form a dystopian future (the one from 10 Candles session). He claims the Checkmate is the cause for the state of affairs from his reality. Upon this revelation he is taken into custody by the White Queen and Black King.
Falling Action
The C.H.E.S.S. tribunal grants and honourable discharge to the Checkmate team, thanking them for their service (and in the case of the White Queen, a nod that they were set up as fall guys for the debacle in Ukraine).
Resolution
Skorpium in shame strikes out on his own, retiring in Denver, pondering what his next move is.
The rest of the Checkmate Squad is offered sanctuary in Ohibi Valley. This pressents a way for them to continue to be in the fight against the Devil.

If Checkmate had failed their defence they would have been dishonourably discharged and had their super heo liscenses revoked.
Moral Quandaries
The majority of the squads actions were true and noble. The trial did however bring us some less than stellar moments, and a number of occasion where unwarranted deadly force was used.
