Galrig Goop

Invented by the famed chemical researcher, Sonia Huntane, Galrig Goop is a biofuel well-known for its explosive entrance into the Wickslen market during the Internecine Wars. Unfortunately this was the case both metaphorically and literally, the developer was locked out of her labs for a good while afterwards and was forced to publicly apologise to the entire town for the loud but victimless explosion. Galrig Goop was developed to combat extreme shortages of Rubane, a fuel made from the thick sap of the Rubbergrove tree, caused by war damages and the loss of territories stolen by Vierune (Ferriviere).   Under orders from their Region Lord, researchers of every biological and chemical field were putting their noses to the grindstone in search of a replacement fuel for the military's mechanical boats. It was purely by chance Sonia Huntane found their miracle worker. Worried for his younger sisters health, Zorine Huntane dragged Sonia out of her workshop to the beach for a days rest. While exploring the caves and depths of Galrig Coves she found an odd, bluish, sticky substance sticking to the sponge stones. Having never seen them before she decided to bring them back with her to examine and toy with.   In just three days of playing she turned the odd substance, later identified as an algae, into a viscous, blue goop with the stench of still floodwaters. Shockingly, it was capable of generating approximately 180% more power than Rubane. The Huntanes attempted to present their discovery to the Lord only to be turned from the gates. Another scientist by the name of Lilton Hilvorn got attention first with his product, Rubanine, a manufactured polymer similar in ability to Rubane but with 13% less power generation capacity and 75% less shelf-life than the original Rubane. The Lord was set. They wouldn't be heard.   Sonia was ready to call it a day and return to her labs for good but her brother, Zorine, had something better in mind. If the Lord was unavailable they would simply take it up higher to the Alliance leader himself. They lacked the status to meet such a VIP on their own and they wouldn't have any motive to meet with them after a new products acceptance. Luckily Zorine had investment money stashed aside from their parents savings and his own work. He wasted no time using them to develop Huntane Industries. With Zorine working on the business aspects and Sonia in development their product quickly gained re-known. Before long Galrig Goop was the only way to power the Alliance.   After his reckless neglect of all possible candidacies was revealed, the Lord abandoned Lilton Hilvorn and vanished from society. Lilton lost out on his initial venture but found a new home in Huntane Industries after marrying Sonia Huntane. While his polymers were a poor substitute to Rubane they found another use for them in manufacturing all manner of biodegradable plastic goods. Rubanine was rebranded Plastanine and Huntane Industries was set as the continents benchmark and the sole provider to the Alliance.   Throughout the war they provided their product on discounted costs under the condition that they receive a set commission after the war at;
  • 5% from civilian purchases
  • 7% from small-mid business purchases
  • 10% from government purchases
  • 15% from big business purchases.
Ferriviere was permanently banned from producing their own Galrig Goop.   The Huntane family didn't have to worry after their finances again for well over a century. Peacetime and new technologies allowed the Rubbergrove trees to be used solely for rubber products and environmental purposes and floodzone management, pushing Wickslers' technological and scientific advancements even further.

I really liked this article, but wondered where the explosion would appear in the story?

Thank you <3 Honestly the explosion is just background story for the article but if I were to include it It'd probably be in a side story for the characters.
