Tennant, The Acuran Hero
A great many things happened in the time of Exploration. Tales talk the discovery the discovery of realms, battles of great beasts and the fall of the once great Acuran empires. But some things are just that, stories. That is what most believe about one particular story. The legend of the Tennant.
It began in a village, somewhere in the South West region of Cytal. The villagers went about their lives as normal, not causing harm to others or plotting any great scheme. They simply lived normal lives in a quiet little village. Until one day, a stranger walks into town and books himself at the local inn. The innkeeper asks for his name but all he gives is the word 'Tennant'. He paid for his room and quietly stayed their for the remainder of the day.
Once the night had arrived, a terrible storm circled above the village. Dark clouds and unnatural forces choked the air before unleashing an almighty roar. A moment of silence passed over the village, a suspenseful silence. Then, in the distance, a low rumbling was heard, heading for the village. The villagers left their homes and looked into the darkness of the trailing road out of their peaceful residency. The rumbles grew louder and louder, and before long dark figures emerged from the darkness to reveal a terrifying truth.
Beasts from another realm were coming. They coming in great numbers and coming in fast. The villagers panicked, women screamed and children cried. The villagers were not prepared for anything like this. What would they do? How could they save themselves? They weren't warriors, they were just farmers. They were doomed, or so they thought.
For whilst most were fearing for their lives, one remained still watching the beasts hurl towards the village. The Tennant, stood tall and solid like a wall of stone wielding some kind of glowing staff. The beasts made their appearance known in on the moonlit dirt to show teeth and claws, talons and spikes. Horrific sights for any to behold, but that didn't phase the Tennant. Instead he merely raised his staff, bellowed out a strong and powerful word before...
A bright, blinding and burning light radiated from his staff. The villagers covered their eyes, it was like the daystar had been brought to the ground to burn them all. The light let out a wave of power and heat stopping all in their tracks. Just as quickly as the light appeared, it vanished back into the staff of the Tennant, revealing the fate of the beasts. Nothing remained of them but dust of where they once stood. No more rumbling could be heard, no more teeth seen. The beasts were simply gone. And the Tennant turned to return back to his room at the inn.
The next morning, the villagers went to his room to ask and thank the stranger. Only to find that his room was empty and the Tennant was gone. No note, no sign of ever being there. Only enough gold coin to tip the innkeeper. The villagers didn't know who the man was, or why he was there. But one thing is for sure. Whatever happened, he had saved them all.
They say he will return one day, when there is no one else left to save the innocent, no help at all. He will arrive to banish away all.
