Irolian Steel
Irolian Steel is a special combination of meteoric metals found deep in the rocky mountains of Priquish, mined for its superior strength and flexibility. When magic is channeled through this metal, the state of it can drastically change, forming an easily shaped liquid that can be molded into whatever the worker desires. This discovery created a massive advancement in Priquian technology, allowing for many weapons to be created that helped in not only the Priquish-Salman War, but also the invasion of Everia.
Origin
Irolian Steel comes from deep within the mountains of Priquish, mined from old meteors that have struck Visctheria and since melded into the planet's surface since the time when the Gods walked the world. As these meteors are mined away, the different veins of ore are combined via superheating and magical channeling to create a stronger, more flexible metal that can be changed into a liquid shape and poured into molds of any shape. Once the liquid hardens, it is near unbreakable.Uses
Irolian Steel can be used to make many sorts of structures, weapons, and even vehicles. Because of this, the technology and materials are closely protected by Priquian society, rarely allowing any Irolian Steel items to leave the country's borders.Structures
Several more stationary Priquian cultures build their structures out of Irolian Steel, or at least add Steel reinforcements. Because of this, once structures are built, they rarely have to be repaired or replaced, leading to extraordinary security and stability for a very unstable and nomadic people.Weapons
Weapons made from Irolian Steel are some of the strongest weapons on Visctheria, forged in fire and magic. While few outside Priquish are able to obtain these weapons, the commodity is much more common within the borders, leading to leigions of Priquian citizens who are not only well-armed, but extremely skilled in combat.Vehicles
The Warmongrels were a mid-Deific Age Priquian invention that was used during the Everian Invasion. These giant war machines enabled them to travel much faster, and while they were bulky and unreliable, they were terrifying in combat. The simple coal-fire engines carried them forward at a remarkable pace, and created a force Everia could not withstand.
Ad Infinitum...
While much of the Irolian Steel is still available for collection and creation, it is a finite resource. Soon the meteors will be depleted, leaving only the stone beneath. Despite this fact, Priquish has not slowed its production of the metal, creating a race to the end of their ability to conquer the world.More on Priquish
