Kaupou
Being one of the greater settlements in the Boroughian Wetlands it wasn't very surprising that it got chosen as the country's capital when the tribes united. What was surprising however was the 50 km long wall that it was the centre of. Starting at lake Tiszentmarte in the north all the way to lake Hajsari in the south it covered pretty much the entire eastern border with Kaupou as the main entry gate into the country.
Why, was the biggest question on most people's mind because there had never been any trouble with the Velumian Republic or any other country for that matter. And why would there be? The country was mostly dark, unpassable marshlands with dangerous monsters lurking underneath the water's surface. Only the toughest (or most desperate) people lived around these parts and none of them seemed to have anything to be jealous of.
Could it be that the tribes folk had discovered some grand hidden treasures they now desperately tried to protect?
Or are they preparing themselves for an attack of their own and is the wall mainly for protection against retaliation?
Or perhaps, as some rumors might tell you, they are not trying to keep people out... but something else IN!
