Goualekir
Goualekir is a historic elven city and the capital of Exotia. It is built almost at the center of the elven country on a narrow piece of land surrounded by trees and overseeing the Royal Sea and the banks of the Goual River that flows into the city. Goualekir has changed over the years as it has endured sieges and destruction, having faced forces matched only by the Great War of the Gods. Now, it is a city of elven design mixed with western elements, especially Sartian and Lothenian characteristics. It is one of the few cities that accommodate vendors usually found in human societies.
Architecture
Elven settlements are built differently than other cities. Although made of stone and wood, their buildings are delicately carved and resemble works of art. Elven homes are not meant to protect against the elements in the same manner as buildings with thick walls and roofs. Most of them do not have concrete walls or even windows. They are open to the elements as elves live in harmony with the effects of the weather. Most buildings are built on trees and lack windows or even doors. Elves do not share the concept of possession and individuality or even privacy like other species. They operate collectively and often move and live in packs, like animals and so, their homes were not built for protection against outsiders.
