Runes & Enchantments in Vitallia
HISTORY OF ENCHANTMENTS
Magical enchantments upon weapons and items are common in Vitallia. Throughout history, Enchanters were able to imbue items with magic by carving Runes upon their surfaces. The type of each item would determine the type of the enchantment and the quality of each item would determine the quantity of Runes that can be placed upon it.RUNECRAFT
Runecraft is the art of crafting Runes that provide enchantments upon weapons or other items. These runes are carefully carved upon surfaces such as metal, wood, bone, stone or even embroidered on cloth. However, carving these runes deep into the surface would often force most items to break. Therefore, Items of common quality are known to have a limited hosting capacity of up to one Rune, but items of superior quality have shown resilience to the runes and therefore, are able to withstand more enchantments.TYPES OF ITEMS & RUNE CAPACITY

LEGENDARY ITEMS
Certain items, often referred of as "Artifacts" have been known to contain a large number of runes and enchantments. These items took legendary fame and were craved by ambitious adventurers and leaders for their valuable powers. Not much information is known regarding the origins of such items but their extraordinary potency is credited to the technique that was used to create them. A forgotten, almost impossible to learn art called "Igaelia" led to the creation of such items that could host 4,5 or even up to 10 Runes of powerful enchantments. Such items were the legendary Blades of the The Blade Guardians that were made by Gods or other powerful individuals. The most famous craftsman of such skill was Kargor .
