Sartian Witches
In the kingdom of Sarta, a longstanding tradition dictates that only women are permitted to publicly wield magic. This rule is grounded in the resemblance of Sartan women to the Medusa, a sacred beast and the symbol of the nation. Although the tradition is strictly upheld, there are not severe penalties for men who choose to use magic within the kingdom. While generally frowned upon and sometimes persecuted with mild to moderate penalties in certain cities, it is not strictly forbidden. This leniency is extended to avoid disturbances caused by foreigners unaware of the peculiar law.
