The Statues of Goliath

In Goliath, the Gargoyles follow a unique tradition of turning themselves into statues. As citizens of the city, they voluntarily transform into stone, spending days, months, or even years in this petrified state before returning to life to resume their daily activities. It's not uncommon for Golths to lose track of time while in their stone form, leading to extended periods of petrification. Additionally, Gargoyles who die of old age and natural causes become stone permanently, contributing to the ornate decorations of their own cities. For outsiders, distinguishing between living and permanently petrified statues in Goliath can be a challenging task.
