The Monster Maskavara
Discovery, Exploration
In the year 177 AC, with the completion of the city of Asgramon in Esgolithon, dwarves began to notice the presence of a lurking creature beneath the mountain. As they delved deeper, the ominous sounds of a colossal monster became unmistakable. This creature, named Maskavara, was a massive worm moving beneath the earth, posing an unknown and terrifying threat. Several months later, the creature launched a devastating attack, ripping through the earth beneath the city like claws tearing flesh, devouring buildings and claiming the lives of hundreds of dwarves, along with Kargor's tomb and the Helm of Rugara. Maskavara, so immense that it could consume entire constructions, creatures, weapons, and buildings, continued its destructive path through the dwarven city. Unable to harm the creature's exterior, the dwarves undertook a perilous mission, entering the creature's mouth to confront it from within. Despite facing the corrosive acids within the creature's stomach, thousands of dwarven warriors fought valiantly, inflicting multiple wounds on Maskavara until it succumbed to its injuries. The city of Asgramon, though ravaged, gradually underwent restoration, and the rebuilding process ensued. However, Kargor's tomb and the Helm of Rugara remained elusive, lost in the aftermath of the creature's attack, never to be found again.
