Ægirin (ah-yeer-inn)

Ægirin is the territory belonging to the Selkies within the elven country of Eglariell. They are considered a shy, matriarchal communitywho rarely leave their region in fear of being hunted or taken forcefully as spouses as has been practiced in the waning moons.
In years past, female Selkies were plucked from the waters to be wives of the Northern pirates. Northern pirate lore stated having a Selkie aboard would bring prosperity in fishing and would protect them from being destroyed by the terrible storms that occur during the season of Great Rest (winter).
Ægirin is divided from the Elven territory via the Celestium Mountains, a mountain range they believe to be blessed by Celestia. They hold reverence to this goddess and celebrate her blessings of wisdom in the month of Harvest on the holiday, Celestia's Grace.
