Magi-Tech
Utility
In Volaria, the tech is used efficiently to provide safety and efficiency. More recently, advanced prosthetic limbs have been developed.
In Umber, magi-tech has evolved into a destructive means to force territories, curfews, and silent anyone who steps out of line.
Social Impact
In Volaria, magi-tech has created a plethora of jobs in maintenance, building, and even provided magical means to do things that the non-magical lay person could now partake in, thoroughly bolstering the economy in the capital. The minor islands filled with farming communities have also benefited. Low-level, affordable tech allowed farms to have better production yield and longevity as it reduced the physical strain, particularly on older farmers.
In present day Umber, the tech is largely reserved for the rich and affluent, being illegal to distribute outside of the inner circle. It has been used as a means to isolate and control the populace. The tech is too expensive for anyone to afford and has also provided cheaper labor, thereby reducing job opportunities.
Access & Availability
In Volaria's capital, Pride, magi-tech has become a part of the inner workings of the city and even on some of the minor islands. While more expensive than non-magi-technical tools, it has become more and more affordable as it has developed.
In Umber's capital, Blessing, magi-tech is reserved only for the rich loyalists and Keepers, being far too expensive for the commoner to access, nor is it even legal for a commoner to own.
Discovery
Magi-tech began to be realized in the year of 632. It was brought about by the brightest Umberian and Volarian minds at the school of Magicks, Astral Infinitum.
