Piracy in Vitania
The biggest piracy organization is the Crimson Corsairs, which consists of 2 divisions (see below). Pirates often work alone, but the Crimson Corsairs are organized enough to bring in big loot, which they then sell to the highest bidder. They are often hired under the table by political figures or noblemen as well for the acquisition of technology and artifacts.
Organized as they are, pirates are still pirates and morals are not their strong suit. Each ship submits to its captain and their own set of rules. The focus is just getting the job done.
Sky Raiders:
- The Sky Raiders are a notorious division of the Crimson Corsairs that specializes in piracy in the skies using powerful sky ships.
- Signature Sky Ships: The Sky Raiders operate advanced sky ships equipped with levitation crystals, enabling them to navigate the skies and ambush aerial trade routes.
- Attacks on Magi-Tech Merchants: The Sky Raiders target sky ships who merchant ore and goods that help fabricate Magi-Tech in Volaria. They raid and plunder these vessels, acquiring rare and powerful minerals and tech, disrupting the trade and control of Magi-Tech.
- The Wavebreakers are the maritime division of the Crimson Corsairs, engaging in piracy on the oceans with their agile and heavily armed ships.
- Attacks on Magi-Tech Merchants: The Wavebreakers target seafaring merchants who ship Magi-Tech or minerals used to build such technology just as the Sky Raiders do.
- Pirates often work alone. This can either be by choice or a failure to meet the standards to be a part of the Crimson Corsairs.
Pirates originating from northern territories occasionally set out to capture Selkie women, believing them to be good luck and bring about fair weather.
