Archon of the Pylon Keeper

Basic Description

The essential role of an Archon is to be a leader of the Silliicey. Each Archon supervises a region of Pylons. Generally, these regions encompass anywhere from three to twelve Pylons. Since the Pylons form a global network, the Archons are a global collaborative group. While the Pylon Keepers themselves manage the physical Pylons and build them up; the Archons coordinate the Pylon Keepers. There are many circumstances that lead to a group of Pylon Keepers becoming short-staffed or low on vital resources. The Archons take on the burdens of moving personnel and resources to such shorted sites.

Qualifications

The Archon must be a member of the Silliicey race.

Duties

Archons spend most of their time assessing the Pylons under their care for any dips in energy output. The Archons of other regions will reach out, if they are having trouble building up the output of the Pylons under their care. The Pylon Keepers as a whole work together to build up the health of as many Pylons as possible.

Responsibilities

The Archon must ensure that the Pylons under their care are well cared for. It is through the careful maintenance of the Pylons that the Pylons themselves will be able to grow larger. This growth will project a more concentrated Mana field. This concentration of Mana also allows the Pylon to increase the range of its energy field. For the Pylon Keepers, the Archon manages a region of Pylons and collaborates with other Archons to manage the movement of resources and personnel to facilitate good management.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The Archon gives up their position upon death or when they no longer have the ability to continue performing the functions of the post. Once an Archon position is vacated, a succession board is called to appoint a replacement. This board is made up of the other Archons, and the elders supporting the now retiring Archon. These two groups will collaborate and appoint a successor from the membership of Pylon Keepers the retiring Archon was in charge of.   Once the replacement Archon is appointed, he will be required to bond with the Pylon he will be primarily responsible for. Over time, the new Archon will take a tour around their region of responsibility to bond with all of the Pylons under their care. Once this tour is complete, the new Archon is able to settle down at their home base and go about the business of managing a Pylon network.
