Head Archivist Toburn Surequill

Moving through the cavernous confines of the Imperial Archives, Toburn Surequill searches for yet another ancient tome. He inherited the position of Head Imperial Archivist from his father, who inherited it from his father, who inherited it from his father. The line of Surequills goes all the way back to the first few generations of Dometians. Toburn Surequill was granted his title back in 6566. That was one hundred years ago.
Toburn's station is to guide anyone who comes into the Archives looking for knowledge. A great many people have received help from him in the past century, and he looks forward to seeing a great many more. Under Toburn's leadership, the Archives have maintained a long record of thwarting theft attempts. Toburn knows not to allow just anyone to look around the Archives unattended. Only a select few get the pleasure of roaming freely. The vast majority of visitors are escorted to a reading area where they can be watched closely. Some of the oldest books and scrolls ever written are contained within the depths of the Archives, and Toburn will not see a single volume harmed by careless visitors or stolen by malevolent ones.
Toburn himself stays above the floor of the Archives most days, especially now that he's grown more comfortable in his role. He prefers to manage from a birds-eye view of the place. Drawing him down to speak with a visitor requires a quest for knowledge with a certain unique flavor to it. Toburn specializes in knowing the locations of all the various esoteric pieces of the Archives. It is Toburn who is responsible for guiding visitors to the knowledge they seek, but he restricts his direct intervention to those visitors that need knowledge beyond the scope of his assistants.
However, being an Archivist is more than just being the caretaker of a collection of dusty, old books. Toburn restores the most ancient of stories. It is his sole responsibility to make sure that the oldest of legends remain legends instead of falling into the mists of myth. Toburn's preservation efforts have headed off more than one catastrophe that would have led to the mistakes of the past resurfacing in Dometia's present.
