Singing Mountain Clan

The Singing Mountain Clan was a Viamaj clan located near the Singing Mountain on Dathomir and a bitter rival of the Nightsister clan. Its leader was Augwynne Djo. Gethzerion, the daughter of Augwynne Djo and the founder of the Nightsisters, used to be part of this clan before she was exiled for attempting to kill her mother.

Culture

All the witch clans of Dathomir were matriarchal societies. Each coven was a "sisterhood" composed of Sisters under the guidance of the Clan Mother. Males were used as servants or mating partners. The mates usually were healthy Humans (or Near-Humans), while aliens were most often turned into servants. However, males could win their freedom by saving the life of a clan sister. "Male witches" or "male spellcasters" were considered a great prize.

Mythology & Lore

As a sect of Viamaj, the Singing Moutain Clan believed in the triple goddess Alma, the supreme deity who governed the universe and the destiny of all living things. Her three aspects were Puera (The Creator), Matre (The Arbiter), and Vecra (The Destroyer). Puera created life, shaped landscapes, and forged celestial bodies. Matre moderated the ebb and flow of events, maintaining harmony between the positive and negative forces that shape the universe. Vecra influenced death and decay in living things, natural structures, and celestial bodies.
