The Cycle of the Gods
As Vorago moves through space, it moves closer and further from the planetary domains of gods and pantheons, and their powers wax and wane.
Greater distance means less influence, and thus less ability to grant miracles and blessings, while proximity increases influence. During a Seameld it is as if it is the same planet.
A greater number of followers on Voragos can extend the reach and power of a god, as usual, but it only delays the inevitable by a decade or two. So long as they retail some followers a god's presence is never fully gone, though.
Because of this, countless temples and monuments to "dead" gods exist on Vorago, some of which suddenly become relevant again two thousand years after their abandonment!
