Vampirism

Vampirisms are a group of magical conditions which share similar traits (you already know what they are). There are multiple strains of vampirism in Vorago, each one with slightly different weaknesses, quirks, and benefits.
The vampires of the Bloodless Citadel have researched vampirism extensively, and have honed and combined their magics to make themselves even more powerful than the "wild strains" can accomplish on their own.
The most common infectious strains, called "vulgar" vampirism, only turn one into the equivalent of a vampire spawn, with free will but all the side effects.

Transmission & Vectors

Vulgar vampirism is usually transmitted by being bit, but true vampires have a more complex process, usually involving killing the victim via bloodsucking.
