Welcome to Vorago
Welcome to Vorago! This is a very brief overview of the setting and my inspirations. After that, I highly encourage you to just hop around the encyclopedia and atlas and see what you discover!
Vorago is a pretty classic D&D fantasy setting in aesthetic and function, with all your classic monsters and magic items. However, what always bothered me was the way D&D's specific magic systems go kind of unexamined. Because of this, I wanted to make both a really solid and ordered physical and metaphysical foundation underlying that fantasy, and a pretty realistic and complex set of geopolitics and cultures arising from it. How could you make a world where different people do different magic? What would different sapient species be like if magic was a factor? How would all of this bullshit affect how a nation is built and run? I like to think about these kinds of interesting (though ultimately hypothetical) scenarios. I hope you'll find them interesting too.
In general, I tried to make a setting with as much diversity and opportunity for player creativity as I could, while also keeping it grounded and consistent. I encourage you to read through the wiki and see if any character ideas you have will fit with parts of the world. If not, though, we can always either add something new or have a PC be straight0up from another world!
Everything in this wiki should be knowledge that an intelligent and well-educated character will/could know, so you won't be spoiling yourself. I've kept all the secret information hidden.
