Vorpal Vale

A post-apocalyptic world 700 years in the future.   The Day of Fire was a one-day nuclear war. "Salted" (cobalt-enriched) nuclear warheads were used, and the surface of Earth was almost completely destroyed.   The Hudson Valley in upstate New York is now Vorpal Vale. Athough not directly impacted, it still endured a long period of extreme radiation. Most plant and animal life were lost forever. Although there has been a recent resurgence of life, it is twisted and changed. Monstrous things hide in the shadows and hunt at night.   Vorpal Vale is divided into two realms. The surface is a low-tech, medieval world of swords, armor and subterfuge. Underneath is a vast maze of interconnected, high-tech facilities.
