Leylines: Magical Technology.

Zhutein 3rd, 530

We have spent the entirety of winter digging out in these fields. According to a lead I received from a Florestinian, there is supposedly a great leyline that leads through these hills and we've yet to find anything at all. Schäfer discouraged me from bringing a team so large out here, but I'm still bound and determined to find this damn thing.

I honestly can't believe it. Dekker came to me in the middle of the night to report that they uncovered a cave system that leads into a great series of channels and a large wall. I write this as I follow him back to the cave system with my demolitionists.   A few hours have passed and I've made charcoal etchings into my logs for closer examination tomorrow. These groves are so ancient, that the water of the caves has begun to shape them. Interesting! They must be thousands of years old.

The excavators burrowed through the wall. They found out that it functioned as some sort of house for the leylines? Interestingly enough, but there is no evidence of anyone ever living here. There is only rotten wood and more stone-hewn walls rolling into the floor.

Utility

Historians believe that leylines were once a way to transfer raw, materialized magic from one place to another to allow sorcerers and wizards a near-endless supply of magics. They also believe that it allowed magi to cast spells over great distances to communicate with one other, teleport, and cast spells.
Access & Availability
If found by Gentrov, the Church will destroy them or take chunks of them to be analyzed. If found by Florestal, they can be purchased and sold by people who lord over the land where they are found.
Complexity
It is incredibly complex and, to anyone's knowledge, nobody is quite sure how to use them anymore.
Discovery
Surprisingly, the Harushkans were the ones to uncover these ancient magical channels. Most of the Heartland was not discovered at the beginning of the Harushkan Wars, and a strange aqueduct that had strange grooves carved into it grew a great and luscious forest with many colorful, twisting, and strange flora. Now, it is home to the village of Macento, home to some of the most unique cuisine and wine in southern Ordia. Macento was once a sight for a large Harushkan war-camp before it mysteriously vanished. After some excavating, they found that stone channels that extended from the aqueduct went on for miles. Still, no one knows exactly how far they stretch.
