The Title of Sfan

The title of Sfan is only granted to those who have done great deeds within the human nations of Ulvad. It is a rare title gifted to those who perform great feats with humanity's benefit and wellbeing of humanity in mind. There are not many living Sfans, as the title is usually bestowed upon those of old age or those that have already died. A Sfan typically has little to no say in political affairs lest they be a high-ranking official before being awarded their title.   Historically, the first Sfan in Ulvad is Sfan (Saint) Carovige. He was rewarded the title of Sfan after felling the eldritch beast known as the Sleeping Lord on the coast of the Sarpean Sea. It is said that Carovige was only awarded the title during the founding of his now waning Church. As each day passes, the Church of Saint Carovige grows weaker, yet they still maintain the ability to dub others with the title of Sfan.    The current living Sfans are Sfan Patrice Andrei of Carovige, Sfan Bledow Getrescu of Halden, and Sfan Jula Mlaban of Zafriste.

Qualifications

There aren't any specific qualifications to earn the title of Sfan. Nobility and the people witness one's actions. If a religious ruler in one of the nations of Ulvad dubs you a Sfan, it is because the deeds you have done are considered a great boon to humanity.

Appointment

There is a special ceremony that differs between churches, but it usually entails celebrating or celebrating the memory of the newly-dubbed Sfan.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Grounds for having the title revoked would be performing a heinous act such as murder. Only those with power can revoke the title.
Status
In the past, the title of Sfan meant quite a lot. You were lavished and treated as though you were a living God. Now, the title is mostly symbolic as most who are awarded it aren't given land or wealth anymore.
