Verta Vesgir

Verta was born in the town of Lokris. He has a sister, and a brother. His brother died in 2866 in a Rezakian pirate attack. He and his siblings all joined the army at a young age. His Mother is in the navy, and his father is an architect. Verta works with the coastal defence force on the beach closes to Lokris. This area has always been quite fortified, as it once bordered with Kalgitia. Pirate attacks are few and far between, as there are much easier targets to the east. Some day, the Lokris army may have to reinforce the eastern coast, but for now all is relatively well. Verta's brother was sent to the eastern coasts, and came back a corpse. Verta would prefer not to meet the same fate. His sister, Hümele, is a Medic. She wants to go east to help the people there. Verta and Hümele serve in the same squad. 
In his free time, Verta likes to read, or debate with his friends on various subjects. He often gets in trouble as his argumentative nature comes off as subordination with the squad leader.
2892 - Verta is promoted to the rank of Setik for his brave service in helping defend Clydesdale from a brutal Pirate assault. He is now in charge of 100 soldiers. Over the next few years Pirate attacks intensify, with an obvious intent to gain a foothold for invasion. Verta loses several troops, making his thirst for vengeance grow deeper. Verta meets Clarissa Canter. 
2905 - Vertas' mother is killed in the battle for Keblych, in which the Imperial Fleet manages to break through the blockade stopping them from entering the channel, and deliver a decisive blow to the pirates ship building facilities along the shores of the channel. A funeral is held, though her body was never found.
2911 - The Empire begins landing troops on the shores of Mrostaki, Verta is part of these forces. During the battle of the beaches Verta suffers a shot through the left cheek. His teeth are mostly fine, with only a few pieces of shrapnel ending up embedded in his gums. Despite this injury he continues to fight until being ordered to a medical station. The shrapnel is removed from his gums, but his cheek will never fully heal, leaving a wide hole in its' place. His sister chides him for not seeing a medic sooner. Verta continues to fight in the Mrostaki invasion until it's conclusion. 
2913 - Verta and his Kod are stationed as defenders against pirate attacks along the west Mrostaki coast. It's not as quiet as the Lokris coast, many years ago, but Verta still manages to find time for debate and social drinking. One of his party tricks involves pouring rum into his mouth through his cheek hole.
2918 - Verta is killed in battle, fighting against a brutal pirate attack that saw an entire Mrostaki town slaughtered. A Gesukai Pirate shot him through the heart, causing him to die almost instantly.
