The 3 Day War

The 30 Day War was a conflict fought between North Cassel and South Cassel in the year 2974 I.A.. It was instigated between the kings of the two nations, King Brenon Vernador of the North, and Kind Eldon Vernador XXI of the South. It was a very short but official war between two of the most powerful nations on the world of Vreathe and ended as soon as it began.

Background

The seeds of this war were sewn roughly a year earlier in 2973 when the Twentieth King of Cassel decided he was going to step down from the throne. He then split his kingdom into three smaller nations. He gave South Cassel to Eldon XXI. He gave the North to Brenon. He gave the West to Larielle. He was said to have done this because the Kingdom of Cassel was too large to run effectively and he believe that all three of his children were competent rulers.

Larielle had no opinion when she heard the news. If it was her father's will that the kingdom be split into three, then she would happily rule the west. Eldon XXI was furious and wanted the entire kingdom for himself. He was supposed to inherit it all up until the decree was made. Brenon thought that if their father though he was fit enough to rule one third of a kingdom, he should be allowed to rule all of it.

Eldon and Brenon started to amass armies and were planning to invade each other's lands to take over. Larielle stationed soldiers on her borders and stayed out of it. War was formally declared on August 5th, 2974.

The War

Three days later, the armies of the North and South met on the Rolling Fields of Tarask. They were about to fight, but neither king was there. The two generals in charge, Sir Ferelon and Sir Kreno, rode to the front lines to meet. Within five minutes, they came to a conclusion:

This is stupid..."

The two men turned around and ordered their soldiers to go home. History says that brilliant negotiations between two of the nations best generals took place, but in reality the two knew each other when they served in the same wars. They decided that fighting in a war to feed two kings' egos is not worth anything.

The Missing Kings

The Kings never showed up to the war. Brenon was stil in the fortress city of Lornar, and Eldon was in the mesa city of Wrethilin. On August 8th, 2974, Brenon's wife Aria gave birth to a son named Vyerin, and Eldon's wife Sara gave birth to a daughter named Aerynn.

The next day, the two realized how stupid their war was going to be. A month or so later, they met at the border's of their kingdoms to sign a peace treaty. Larielle also showed to put sign her name on the treaty and to see her newly born niece and nephew. After the Treaty of Three Kingdoms was signed, the three rulers followed the wishes of their father and no further conflict happened between them.
