Lemuran Period
The Lemuran Period is the first recognized geological period on Vulgur, beginning around 860 mya. The period was characterized by high Carbon Dioxide levels in Vulgur's atmosphere and was preceded by the normalization of Vulgur's ring system several million years earlier. Plate tectonics had not fully began during the period, and continent formation was still ongoing in several parts of the world. Geographically, three continents are known from the earliest parts of the period - Lamyum, Medisum, and Cerberus. Lamyum consisted of the two oldest plates, which had slowly drifted together near the North Pole. Cerberus was a super-continent that rested on the equator, with active continent formation still ongoing along the its southern coastline. Medisum was the youngest of the three continents, and consisted of two continental plates forming alongside each other. Due to this continent formation, Medisum was likely one of the most volcanic regions on Vulgur during this time - the only region that could possibly have surpassed it was the Celisyum plateau - a mostly submerged continental shelf that comprised an actively forming continent.
