Mrázastrach

Mrázastrach is the southernmost continent in the world of Vylderaine and is bordered on both the east and the west by the Glacial Ring and is directly connected to the ice of the southern pole of the world. Because of its geographical location, it is extremely cold and mountainous. The continent as a whole is communally governed by an elected government known as the Grand Senate which is in turn ran by an elected Grand Chancellor. The members of the Grand Senate are selected from amongst the smaller nations and communties of the continent such as Ladova, the Diamond Peaks, the Grey Woods, and Jotunheim. Mrázastrach does not interact much with global politics as much as some of the other continents of the world due to their isolated position. They do engage with some global commerce however such as trading pelts and furs mostly. Mrázastrach's main economic draw however is their harsh climate and isolated location. For this reason, many nations from around Vyldraine pay the Grand Senate of Mrázastrach to take their most dangerous criminals and house them in a super max prison. During The Age of Horizons the land of Mrázastrach saw a major shift in their territory. It was discovered that a Primordials Colossus had been slowly awakening on their southern border for years and after tremendous effort managed to be sundered. The results of such an endeavor lead to the restructuring of their government with the nations of the Diamond Peaks, Grey Woods, and Jotunheim getting a more equal say in the Grand Senate than the mostly human nation of Ladova. The sundering of the primordial colossus was also felt elsewhere in the world as the southern hemisphere of Vylderaine was plunged into a small ice age for the next two decades after the incident.
