Inquisitor
Root out all Corruption
Significance and Influence
The Inquisitors answer directly to the Master of Radiance and no one else, nigh making them a law unto themselves. They are tasked with both preventing and rooting out any corruption in the Dameskan nobility or military. They are also sent out of the larger cities to hunt down high profile targets and oversee solemn sacrifices that might have a High Priest present. While not expressly affiliated with the Church of Phrixus, there is still a very heavy religious zealot cast to the Inquistors though they are far more interested in protecting Damesk as a country than rooting out would-be heretics of the Dameskan faith.Inquisitors travel with a small contingency of Knights they have hand picked as an honor guard and are immediately distinguished by their gold trimmed armor. While the armor is still highly functional, the decoration is more a badge of their office and proclamation of who they are than gaudiness on the Inquisitor's part.
Since few will question the word or decrees of an Inquisitor, this makes them a feared and respected group. While not widely known for targeting innocents, Dameskans never-the-less become a little more anxious or nervous when one is around. Taking care to keep their thoughts clean and their actions respectful. There have been some Inquisitors who have been rather heavy handed in their desire to root out corruption. With no other oversight besides the SunLord, or one another, this often means they toe the line of extremes.

Composition
Equipment
Each Inquisitor and Knight in their honor guard are distinguished by full plate armor that in trimmed in gold. They have crimson cloaks bearing the golden longsword of Phrixus. To set himself apart, the Inquistor will usuall have additional red and gold accents and stand out as being more elaborate.
The entire Inquisitorial Command has their own horses. When traveling, the Knights will tend to their own. In cities, there is a stable for them. They will have the same horse - trained by them for combat - unless that horse should be slain. Then the Knight will take the time to train another so the animal is familiar and bonded to them.

Training
Inquisitors don't train for the title, specifically. They are Knights who are eventually promoted by the Master of Radiance, and then it turn promote their own Honor Guard.
Thus, all Inquisitors have received the same training as any other knight, but have lived a lot longer and have far more experience. Having set themselves apart in some form or fashion to be noticed and, eventually, promoted.

Logistics
Logistical Support
The Inquisitors are funded by the Dameskan people, via taxes. Though at first glance it might seem they live an extravagant life, the Inquisitors and their Command are frequently on the move and most of their expenses are incurred in travel and the care of their horses and armor. Well off or well meaning Dameskans will put up the Inquisitor's Command in their home, place of business, or stable their horses without charge.
An Inquisitor can demand they stay anywhere and claim the home of a resident for any purpose, usually citing Inquisitorial business if required. Given the Dameskan ability to read surface thoughts, though, corrupt or abusive Inquisitors do not last long so those that impose in such a way generally do not last long.

Recruitment
In most major cities around Damesk, there is a knight barracks. Hopeful students and would-be knights flock to these locations and go through a physical selection process that usually involves some manner of endurance and strength test against other candidates. Those at the top are taken in as Squires, the rest are cast out. Since the Squires will graduate either into soldiers or knights and comprise the meat and majority of the Dameskan military, there aren't that many that are turned away.
There is also a familial expectation and obligation that at least one child will be donated to the military of Damesk to further the cause of the Country. This can be in the form of a Squire in the barracks or to a Knight directly to be mentored.
The time it takes to become a Soldier is significantly less than it is to become a Knight, but the requirements are also lower. Soldiers are no less respected, though, as they are the bulk of military might in Damesk and that's something the country prides itself on. Knight graduates are usually selected from Squires who are exceptional.

"I had never known Gabayne to be anything but the nicest man. Had his tavern open every day since the place had been built. Imagine our collective surprise when the Inquisitor showed up and pulled him out of the place and set it ablaze! He'd been smuggling in unmarked boxes of Phrixus' only knows what, but it sure had the Inquisitor and his Knights upset. Burnt it all up with the tavern.
I'm going to miss that tavern."
