Green Sands

The Tanaruku kingdom and the other pharaonic states of the Green Sands region lay between Zamatos and the rest of Umhlaba. These deeply religious people have an understanding of the mortal soul more complete than any other culture. These nations occupy fertile river valleys and oases in an otherwise arid environment. The surrounding deserts are home to nomadic cattle-herders and dangerous predators. All of these cultures practice elaborate funerary rites designed to ensure their continued existence after death. Their god-pharaohs have passed down unsurpassed knowledge of the immaterial so that their followers can join them in their eternal kingdoms in the afterlife.
