Hecath Queen

At the top of the fungal Hecath's many-formed heirarchy are the astounding, demigodlike Queens: mutable creatures who act as the chemo-empathetic command cores of sometimes thousands-fold hecath populations. They are expert wielders of a bizarre, otherwise unknown type of time magic, and view time itself in a nonlinear manner, seemingly beyond even the prophetic nature of other Material Gods. They are the one major non-Humanoid pantheon on the plane.

Remaining Queens

Once common on Waking Materia before the arrival of the First Meranthic Empires, the hecath have since been devastated by a series of wars with Humanoids followed by the plane-wide destruction of the Deluge. Only an estimated eight to twelve Queens remain on the entirety of Waking Materia, and do not appear to have colonized other plane: two Queens rule the surfacer populations in Voidward Ilhalvalaut; two rule the subterranean Maraian Hecath beneat the Emerald Expanse; one rules a population who deals mysteriously with the dwarves of Nibelheim, and finally they rule an unknown number of ship-bound colonies collectively known as the Ghost Ships of Xois, thought to number between three to eight.

Historically, the most famous Hecath Queen was a particularly gregarious and outward-looking individual named Raggedy Azra, who formed a deep partnership with a Rozsan Lichlord and xenobiologist named Vierix Clymenikari.
