Captain Edmark was once a great sea captain until he suffered a great trauma during the War of the Long Shore, during which his ship was attacked by a kracken, and sunk. After five years of land-locked recovery, he was anxious to be at the helm of a boat again, but unsure of the ocean. The Council of Arwahl gave him the position of Captain on the Fairfax Ferry. Captain Edmark still shows signs of trauma. Aside from frequently tipping back a flask, he seems to think he's a pirate. However, he does his job well so the crew just plays along.
