Ogres
Strong, long lived, and quick to heal, Ogres are found throughout the world, though the largest populations are native to the swamps and marshes of Crinoa.
Ogres are proud, and combative, relying on duels and wrestling to resolve many disputes. Their blood is a potent healing agent, and only becomes somewhat less so as they age, meaning that wounds that would kill another race might merely scar an Ogre.
Social status in Ogric society follows age as seen by the number of scars proudly displayed. An ogre of 30 years bearing a dozen massive scars with stories for each carries more clout than an unscarred one who has lived for more than a century.
Unusually, Ogre tribes often spontaneously create democratic structures, with leadership based on election rather than bloodlines or pure combat capability.
Ogres have a somewhat deserved reputation for being less intellectually capable than other races, but rare individuals are more than capable of higher thought, even if the common Ogre might struggle with mathematics.
