Jupa Province

A territory conquered by the 2nd Empellor upon his campaign marching north. Jupa was ruled by only one Wesser tribe known as the Jups. The rolling hills, open fields, thin forests and the vast lands bordering the Hoboltin Plateau resisted the Solier Empelle at first, yet soon into the war proposed a ultimatum. If the Empelle could challenge their greatest warrior, son of the Chieftain and win the Jups will submit to their rule.
Upon the duel The Leading General of the 3rd Legion Stepped forward. His intention not only to win, yet to show his men he deserved their loyalty. Upon the fight the chieftains son was much larger and stronger. The fight didn't last long, yet just as the General's cunning seemed to give him victory he was thrown down by the might of the Chieftain's Son. Laying upon the ground the legion watched as he was at the mercy of the tribe. Before he was killed the chieftain stared at the legions standing before him. In red banner lines as far as he could see. Looking back at his men he saw his family, brothers, all loyal to his word. His son raising the ax to end the General's life. Calling off the fight pushing his warrior of a son back. Stepping towards the general he aids him in standing up.

General, champion of the Soliens will you govern us and our children after we pass fairly. Must we bow and shackle ourselves to your rule?

The general holding the hand of the chieftain stared into his eyes. The record of this duel acting as a holiday in the Jupa Province. As the lines of both the chieftain and General are repeated in ceremony.

Raising their hands together the Chieftain and the legions made allies on the day. A large feast made that annually occurred thus forward, called the Dueling Union.
Jupa remains a prideful rather independent province generally voting against the Empellor's proposals, yet remains one of the provinces that people over several generations identify with the same name as Solien. Seeing themselves just as much the Solien Empelle Idenity as the founders in Tuly Peninsula. The family of the first Chieftain ruling the region still govern the Province today.

Geography

The region holds 2 large rivers cutting through the hills and fields. Large forests near the eastern sides towards the Khor mountains and some more around the cliffs of the Hoboltin Plateau. Their largest city being the center of the final battle in Jupa until falling in line with the Empelle's rule.

Natural Resources

Small copper, Tin, and Iron mines on the northern and eastern regions of the Province. Some fresh water fishing, yet the most common resource produce is the taming and breeding of warhorses for the Empelle.

Jupa was the first province to develop dueling and gladiator fighting into a sport. Several skirmishes and wars have played out on their northern borders over the Hobbles and Dondur States. Prisoners of these wars if not bought back by their respected factions/people were thrown into these fights to gain their freedom. This sport was soon accepted across several more Provinces, while not all provinces participated seeing it as savage. Horse Racing was the other biggest sport competing in the Empelle that was banned in Jupa due to its support in Provinces against Gladiator fighting.
