When determining Damage use your opponent’s Toughness Bonus as your Strength Bonus if it is higher; always determine this before any other rules modify your Strength or Strength Bonus. Further, if your target is larger than you, and your score a Critical (see page 159), multiply all melee Damage you cause by the number of steps larger your target is (so, 2 steps = ×2, 3 steps = ×3, and so on this multiplication is calculated after all modifiers are applied. See page 341 for more about Size.
