Electro-Type

Communication Over Wire.

While some Awoken on Plenumia use postal services to deliver messages over long distances, and a rare few use the coveted technology of radios. Fields Union has mastered long distance communications through the complex device known as the Electro-Type. A machine that allows messages to be sent in the language of the same name through wires that run from most major towns in Gold Wheat Fields back to a switchboard station in the Fields Union capital.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Consisting of two wooden panels each with five copper contact, a readout typewriter which automatically prints a transcript of sent and received messages, and a signal booster connected to the wire grid. The machine relies on the piece of Red Ontologite in the signal booster, and Green Ontologite in the readout typer.
To use the Electro-Type an operator would first need to learn the language of the same name, being mindful not to confuse the current version of the language with its older iteration which has long since gone defunct. The operator would put one hand on each of the contact panels, placing a finger on each of the ten copper points. Using Electrokinesis the operator would power each of the contact points one at a time to 'type' a message to the switchboard and request a connection. Once connected to the proper recipient - once a test signal has been sent and received back from the receiving body - the two operators would talk in the Electro-Type language. Readouts would then be pulled and delivered to the recipient of the message.
