Flight Stick
Awesome for a day of fun, horrible for its actual purpose.
One of the major uses for green ontologite, the flight stick was conceived of originally by We of the Sand as a scouting vehicle. However the scouts who were assigned the original versions were quickly captured. Since then the plans for the flight stick design has been circulated through all the major factions, used primarily as a source of entertainment similar to hot air balloons.Construction
The sticks themselves consist of shaft with a small seat at the bottom of the stick with foot rests attached to the seat by string, or wire. At the top of the stick is a horizontal bracket made of conductive metal with a ring of said conductive metal bolted or welded to the bracket. The ontologite is mounted to said bracket, creating an anti-gravity field around the stick, and allowing the user to fly on it like a magic broom when powered by electrokinesis. This effect however only lasts for 10 minuets. The materials the stick is made out of vary from cheap wood and copper, to scrap bicycle frames and silver, and finally in the best sticks hardwood and gold. Why they suck at scouting
Operating a flight stick creates a distinct electrical buzzing noise that can be heard from almost 100ft away. Which makes it only barely passable as some form of scout vehicle. However culturally they have taken on a new meaning of something that is used for entertainment, and occasionally travel. With the most common user being performers who use them for daring stunts. When used by common travels they often result in complaints of major saddle pains along the groin. This pain is also why many users are female, still unpleasant however.
