The Deepwater Protocol first encountered Mirka on their mission to seek out the monk Halm. He was the only Zhent the DP let go, after he pledged he would turn himself in and go straight. However, when the DP went to the Watch station, they discovered he had not turned himself in and Varock swore he would find him and bring him to justice
