He has an odd manner of speaking: aside from “aye” and “nay”, he prefaces every utterance with either “Let us be clear…” or “So we ask you this…”, and pointedly ignores any conversations that don’t include himself. Grady compensates for this by addressing all his statements to Dwindlejoy (for example, “I wonder, don’t you Dwindlejoy, if this rat is going to hand over its bauble without a fight?”).
