Ardenvale

Towering skyscrapers in Kitbury and Bellside surround the centrally located Ardenvale neighborhood. A district ordinance limits the size of buildings so that none are taller than the dome of Solis Bay City Hall. As the city expanded and grew, Ardenvale remained a visual link to the city's past. But make no mistake, despite Ardenvale's relatively diminutive architecture, this neighborhood remains the seat of power in Solis Bay.   Ardenvale is also the scholarly center of Solis Bay, hosting multiple museums, libraries and Solis Bay University. It is a breeding ground for the city's future intelligentsia, serving as a space for discussion, debate, and the occasional violent dispute.   Sometimes civility has its limits.

City Hall

Construction on Solis Bay City Hall finished in 1921, and it has been renovated several times over the decades since. The last renovation was in cooperation with Infini. The company installed new holographic tour guide projectors throughout the building, along with facial recognition scanners for better security. Now visitors can be led through a journey of Solis Bay's political history by their choice of Cary Grant, Jane Fonda, or Eddie Murphy.   During the 1960's, as Solis Bay expanded, an ordinance declared that no building in the Ardenvale neighborhood could be taller than the base of the columns supporting the City Hall's dome, This ensured that the City Hall could be easily seen from the sea, a beacon of democratic civility.   The North Wing is currently under reconstruction as the result of a violent assassination attempt on Mayor Alexandra Buchannon. Don't worry, the assailant failed, but managed to blow up some structurally integral parts of the North corridor. Because of the building's historical landmark status, construction has been slow.

Solis Bay University

Yeah, I mean I could tell you about the classes offered, and the majors and all that.... Sure the engineering program is partially funded by Pantodyne Industries , and if you wanna get an internship there, you got a better shot than some fool grinding it out at MIT.   But bro, hear me out. Let me take you to one Women's Volleyball Match. These ladies are killers. One game and you'll appreciate the game in a whole new way. I don't know, it's just an intensity, like this is life or death for these girls. It's like if Herdevine was a volleyball team, you know what I'm sayin'?   I graduated 8 years ago and I still go to the games. I put on my SBU Dolphins shirt, paint my face, the whole shit. Sometimes I don't even get why I do it either. It's like, when you see someone trying to be great at something - I mean really try - you can't help but want to support it. It's infectious I guess.   Go to one game with me, and it'll be the only school you'll want to go to.

Diploria Salon

The Burstyn Library was purchased by a club of intellectuals looking to create a space for interacting with one another via a local area network.
Members get access to a virtual reality suite that allows them to join Diploria Net. Once logged in, one can interact with other members present in the building. A robust server hosts a variety of games and virtual meeting spaces, allowing you to discuss Descartes while playing a game of tennis on a volcano.
Because this virtual network is housed locally, there are no outside distractions from the world wide web, nor are there prying eyes spying on your conversations. Say what you want to say without fear, comrade!
Member credentials can be displayed on a HUD, allowing one to learn about a person's educational and professional background as you are speaking to them.
Have a question that requires a specific form of expertise? Diploria's membership data is searchable, so you can be linked up with a person who really knows what they're talking about when you really need it.
To join Diploria one needs a degree from an accredited university, or be actively enrolled at one.
