Session III: The Down the Rabbit Holes of Forbidden Alchemy Report

General Summary

The party awoke the next morning to head over to Galder Tindaleron's house only to find that he had been murdered early that morning. Yanny, Tindaleron's manservant, had been taken into custody, but who's custody was in dispute. Lieutenant Sokolov of the Landed Regiment of Streltsy was arguing with the Imperial Elven Navy's Provost Marshal about who had jurisdiction. After some argument, the two agreed to allow the party to investigate if Faddius was made the lead of the investigation. The party find it obvious, along with Lieutenant Sokolov, that Yanny could not have done it since he does not fit the description of the suspect. Additional clues point to Mr. Popansa as being the culprit. 
They receive a note from Popansa saying that he is going to be leaving Dragonrock on a specific ship and the party investigate whether the ship had left yet. The clerk in the docks district says that the ship has not come into port for a month and is late. The party compare the note from Popansa with a dinner invitation from Elvarion and determine that they were written by the same person. Additionally, they find that the murder weapon, a cane, belongs to Elvarion. Heading to Elvarion's house, they find the servants freaking out and Mr. Popansa's voice coming from behind the laboratory door. After breaking the arcane lock and opening the door, a gun fires and Elvarion lies on the floor dead while wearing Popansa's clothes. 
A sigh comes from Faddius's pocket and he goes to the restroom. Shortly after he returns, the box on Elvarion's desk with the note "Read after Harryfoot's" opens and the party find a letter by Dr. Elvarion explaining himself. Nox pokes around in the fireplace, Dalvanak eats some brain fragments, and Faddius comes back from the restroom. The party also find a letter from Dr. Harryfoot in the room which they read. All that remains is to notify the authorities and collect the reward.
