Session XIV: Into the Nightspider Report

General Summary

Dalvanak is able to discern from the pilot of the neogi ship which controls will retract the leg ram from the Widdershins. He also saw controls for releasing the slave pens and opened the slave pen doors. The neogi still alive freak out. Dalvanak goes back aboard the Widdershins and uses his mindblast to attack the remaining neogi. Garrakas and Zaufanie move to attack the retreating neogi, bloodying one and injuring another. As the neogi attempted to escape back to their ship, Zaufanie strikes two dead. 
Back on the neogi ship, Darius attempts to discern whether there are other neogi on the ship. Hearing nothing on the other side of a door leading into the rest of the ship, Darius opens the door to find a curiously dressed neogi who identifies himself as Zigrak. Darius charges forward, casting a blood maledict on Zigrak before stabbing at him with his rapier. 
Back on the ship, Dalvanak slaps a neogi with a flabby tentacle and begins to eat the dying creature's brain and memories. Zigrak, facing off with Darius, manages to hypnotize Darius and order him to go back to the Widdershins and order them to surrender. Zaufanie and Garrakas continue to cut a bloody swath among the fleeing neogi pirates and Faddius is able to wrestle the Widdershins from the neogi's leg ram. 
Darius attempts to resist his enslavement under Zigrak and fails, returning to the ship. Dalvanak strikes the remaining umber hulk with his tentacle and eats its brain. Meanwhile, the leg rams are disengaged and the neogi ship begins to pull away. The neogi prisoners stand on the deck pleading for rescue and the crew of the Widdershins work together to save all eight of them. 
The two ships peeled away and went on their separate courses. Zaufanie comments on how that was a close scrape as the party rests. Darius is called into the captain's cabin by Bellweather who asks if he found anything. While talking to Darius, Bellweather turns into a werebear and explains that this is his secret and why he stays so secluded. The ensuing commotion caused Darius to cough from the dust kicked up. After exiting and a few more hours of travel, the ship docks at the Rock of Bral.
