Session XXIV: Back Into Space Report

General Summary

The party proceeded to loot the tower, finding many treasures left behind. Garrakas and Dalvanak found twin swords that Surek and his priestess carried. Thaddius took Surek's broken staff and struck a deal with Gaspar to do a job in exchange for repairing it. After dividing up their loot, they went through the portal Khoroson made to meet with the High Priestess Andalacia. She thanked the party for their service and paid them 1000 platinum. Upon returning to the ship, Zaufanie congratulates them on their jobs well done and tells them they need to divide up into watches because does not trust the crew. 
After finishing up repairing the Widdershins, the party set sail in Wildspace. During the first watch, Garlith comes upon Rudewort having a nightmare. Upon waking him, the goblin panics and looks visibly drained. Asking him about his dream, Rudewort says he can't recall but feels like something sucked the life out of him. Garlith raises the alarm and the whole ship comes out except for Zaufanie and Thaddius who is on the helm. Dalvanak goes to check on Zaufanie and find him in a similar situation as Rudewort was. He wakes him and exhibits the same symptoms as Rudewort. Darius had heard of this sort of thing from an old shipmate whose old ship had been wiped out from something killing people in their sleep. Garlith recalls a similar thing called the Fearful Sleep that sometimes take out the homeless. Garrakas notices a potato shaped hole going down to the cargo level. Grewarum takes control of the helm while Thaddius goes downstairs. 
Heading down to the cargo hold, the party find themselves suddenly surrounded by round, floating black blobs with three mouths and numerous tentacles staring hungrily with their dead, fish-like eyes. They seemed to have popped out of thin air. A broken open cargo box lays open on the floor, and the creatures begin their attack.
