(Black Eye) Wayne Hmongwan
Revolutionairy Chief Wayne Dall Hmongwan (a.k.a. Black Eye Wayne)
Personal History
Wayne was born on the 5th of Newday in the year 4283 (42 Post Bellum) in a poor laborers family in the city of Bataque. His mother was a whore of Prabaiian nomadic decent and his father unknown, so he was a bastard. He underwent the Tevilah (some sort of Baptism) within the Following of Þar Ornin at Sarlême at the age of 9 years old, as was the tradition. Wayne had a hard youth. At 4 years old, his mother became sick and he had to start stealing to feed both him and his mother. Luckily the neighbors helped out with finances where they could, so they were not completely relying off his son's ''paycheck''. When Wayne was 14 years old, his mother died in a suspicious fire. A year earlier, she had been sent outside the walls to the old slums by the guards out of fear that the town would be infected with a disease. That slum was a year later burned to the ground, with everyone in it with it. Wayne then, also more grown up now, started to loot trader caravans together with three of his friends, who all had a similar youth. This went on for 2 years, until they were tricked by the guards and arrested. They were put for the judges, the high priest and the steward (as was, and is common in Bataque) and they decided that they would be used for the arena fights since the last ''Grand Blood Fight'' (meaning with sharp) was a while ago and the aristocrats were saying they wanted it again. So a week later, the friends fought in the arena, luckily their request to not fight against each other was granted to them. Still, two of the three of Wayne's friends, Harim and Fillio were put to the sword. Only Wayne and his friend Naira fought themselves through the tournament, and afterwards they were banished out of the town. During the tournament Wayne defeated his last enemy by jumping on top of him and beating him so hard up that his eye ran out of blood and turned black, thus his nickname Black Eye. They traveled south and met after a couple days a group of outlaws, who called themselves the Ečiɣa (E-tsj-i-g(as in go but softer)-a), after the stream their main outpost was build next to, the Ečiɣegh (E-tsj-i-g(as in go but softer)-egg). Their leader, the dwarf Goktàl accepted them as one of them, and they both soon felt home here. Wayne and Goktàl quickly became close friends and together they successfully completed many raids. Wayne and Naira also fell in love with each other at this time, and 3 years later they married at the chapel of Þar Ornin in the base. A year later, at the age of 20 Wayne had become a father of a daughter, whom they named Fydia Hmongwan . Years went by, and in the year 4313 (72 Post Bellum) Goktàl died from old age at the age of 382. The Ečiɣa gathered to elect their new leader and out of respect of the friendship Wayne had with Goktàl and knowing the tactical and strategic mind he had, they elected Wayne to be the new leader. Quickly he started preparing a revolution against the aristocrats of Bataque. And many other smaller outlaw bands flocked to his banner. Also did he consistently smuggled parts of the raid bounty of the raids to the poor in the region, gaining a lot of popularity in the following years.Social
Contacts & Relations
Wayne always was the social one. Now even more then before his banishment, he surrounds himself all the time with trade partners, local commoners and guards, who can often be called close friends to him personally.
Apart from the locals, Wayne also has foreign friends and contacts, may it be few due to his active rebellion against the Kingdom of Vexan. But this attitude also attracts people who dislike the northerners as much he does.
One of the more powerful of these contacts is the Emperor of Prabai, whose millenia old dynasty is praying on the lost northern lands for almost a century.
Also lot of common folk within the The Republic of Xulde have sympathy for the cause of the Ečiɣa, making the small rebellion the most widely popular one since the birth of the Kingdom of Vexan.
