GVRK

The Gotq’olianis Veluri Reinjerebis K’orp’usi, or GVRK in short, otherwise called the Gotkolhian Highland Ranger Corps is a law enforcement entity of the Kingdom of Gotkolh .

Founding the GVRK

The GVRK has the primary function to guard over the Samepo Maghalmtiani T’erit’oria, or SMT in shot, otherwise called the Royal Highland Territory, Gotkolh, which covers most of the central Araäsheneba mountain range and the Boldon Basin within. As this area is relatively sparsely inhabited, decision was made by King Arczich II in 812 AZ that since the earldom's were not properly able to defend the centre lands that a special semi-military unit should be raised.

Operation and Organisation

The GVRK's primary function is to ensure the safety of those living in it, as well as inspecting the state of the enviorment, which also includes tasks as checking seismic activity, checking on volcano activity, neutralizing possible hazardous fae and making sure the highlands are clear of criminal brigands. Over most of the Highlands one can find a blockhouse of the GVRK, these do not only function as patrolstops to rest at, but also as command bases for the officers.

Since the SMT is a rugged but also a sparcely inhabited land, the SMT functiones in relatively small groups, with a normal patrol squard consisting of 2 or 3 rangers. They most experienced of them is proclaimed Task Corporal, not that this is not a rank fixed to a person but just a sign of seniority over the other members of the squad. The squad are grouped under the command of a sergeant, who leads a blockhouse, and often also lives there on a semi-, or even completely permanent basis.

Besides the sergeant there are a few different ranks with their own responsibilities, all of which are described below.

From low to high:

• Assistant Ranger, tasked with assisting the ranger in practical tasks.
• Ranger, tasked with completing mission tasks.
• Task Corporal, tasked with leading the rangers.
• Sergeant, tasked with control of area section and assigning tasks.
• Quartermaster, tasked with ensuring supplies.
• Lieutenant, tasked with assigning blockhouses to tasks and sub-terrirory wide scale strategy
• Lieutenant-Major, tasked with aquiring up-to-date information on the state of the SMT.
• Staff Major, tasked with overseeing all employees of the GVRK, with exeption to the Colonel.
• Colonel, top uniformed officer, tasked with completing the main corps goal as well as overseeing grand strategy.
