Phonology

Standard Prabaiian is based on the Northern dialect of Prabaiian. Actual production varies widely among speakers, as they inadvertently introduce elements of their native dialects . Elements of the sound system include not only the segments – the vowels and consonants of the language – but also the tones that are applied to each syllable. Prabaiian has four main tones, in addition to a neutral tone used on weak syllables.

Syntax

Prabaiian syntax is actually so simple that our attempt to understand it in normal gramatical terms over-complicates it. The fact is that the parts of speech of Dara are convenient for understanding how to structure strings in the language, but it only works for languages that adopt all of the same morphological (stuff dealing with minimally meaningful strings) syntactic conventions that we do. The Prabaiian language has a much smaller set of parts of speech, and in fact they are far more similar to those of predicate logic than they are to those of Dara.

Counting is a for foreigners a weird practice here, since the Prabaiian language has a nonary numeral system, meaning that they count in units of 9 instead of 10.
