Thenosian Mercenaries
Thenos, for many years, has been a centre of mercenairy activity. Since the country is in a now century old war with Prabai over the fertile grasslands in the south, it has attracted many fighting forces from around the continent. Since the conflict has cooled down a bit, large portions of these fighting forces have started to be hired by all sorts of customers, from kings and counts of foreign lands to larger merchants and criminal leaders with a feud on their hands.
These companies can be splitted up in several catagories:
- State Owned Companies: Companies owned by the Thenosian government.
- Mercenary Guilds: Companies privately owned mercenairy conglomerates consisting of smaller groups.
- Independent Companies: Politically independant singular groups.
- Foreign State Companies: Mercenairy companies owned and/or funded by a foreign power.
Organisation
By Thenosian law all mercenary companies need to be splitted up and follow the following unit organisation, this is to prevent fraud over unit sizes: This is based on the Thenosian Hogeizortzi system, where the Battalion is 307 units. Note that different companies have different ranks, unit types and staff roles, here are the ones for the Black Army of Thenos:- 1 Kapitainak - captain
- 1 Tenientea - ensign
- 1 Estandara - standard-bearer
- 1 Sarjentu - sergeant
- 1 Kapilau de Tharornin - chaplain of Þar Ornin
