A first year soldier
In human empire culture from 1000 (NOW) onwards there is little value in birthdays for the most part, especially among soldiers who forget their whole lives upon death and revival. this however gave way to a curious and somewhat underground celebration known as the first year soldier party.
History
As humanity grew to be a somewhat immortal race the concept of birthdays being celebrated were pushed to the side as some didn't even know their date of birth anymore. So the concept of spades celebrating one year alive was something of a joke at first. As humanity faces so may enemies that outclassed them they routinely died once or twice a month. However the idea stuck, and the soldiers would have a party on the first anniversary of their revival.
Execution
The party is what you would expect from a group of soldiers needing a morale boost. plenty of drinks and food for all the friends and family of the soldier in question. The spade's commander will often make an appearance to congratulate the solider in question and might even scout him for his leadership potential. But all that comes second to the rabble-rousing.
Components and tools
signatures and words of wisdom are written inside the armor and shield of the solider as these items revive with him even if he dies, in hopes that he will always remember this day.
Participants
The one who survived a year is always present, as well as any family he might have or friends he is close to.
Observance
It is celebrated on only the first anniversary of a spade's revival as celebrating every year is seen as bad luck or inviting death. Most of the time it is planned no more than a few days in advance in case the spade in question dies before the day of the celebration.
