Frozen range
Geography
A mountain range where two rivers meet momentarily before splitting off again. There is small patches of forest but for the most part it is tundra and mountains. Even during the thaws of summer, it is below freezing for the majority of the time. There are mines scattered around to scratch at the wealth hidden in the arctic lands, but for the most part life is hard and life is scarce.
Ecosystem
Prey: these consist of large-bodied herbivores that have enough mass to ward off the cold, or frost-resistant rabbits and rodents.
Preditors: large cats and an occasional bear.
Monsters: frost demons, frost drakes, and the like.
Localized Phenomena
Blizzards routinely rake the landscape. In fact they are treated as steady as moon cycles for the frozen south. This phenomena is known as the giant's pocket watch and legend has it that there was a giant who cursed the land to be so cold. but that is just legend.
The pocket watch causes blizzards in a prime number cycle up to 41. this works as one clear day, then two blizzard days. then three clear days, then five blizzard days. working in this way up to 41 and then resetting.
The tundra is given great respect as the blizzards are most forceful in the open however, in the mountains, large shelves of snow can form over time. dropping the unweary traveler to a quick death.
History
There was once a civilization of giants in the area, but little is known of them having no cities or ruins above the snow to search any more. Now the Dragonborn commonwealth lays claim over the area and is resorces. Their only contest is the orc tribe in the area, and the orcs are more apt to trade for food than fight for land.
